Contemporary at DSD

Contemporary dance is described as “a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.” Contemporary dance contains many strong and powerful movements, as well as soft and fluid movements, working through the floor as well as leaping through the air. At DSD we provide junior, intermediate and senior levels of contemporary classes, as well as highly professional and impressive performing opportunities. Private lessons are also available. Contemporary dance builds strength and flexibility, as well as encouraging artistic passion through movement.

Our contemporary direction is led by Artistic Director Anita Michael, and Ava Skinner.
